Dubai – Mubasher: Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower) has connected Al Wasl Skyscraper to the company’s district cooling network, according to a press release.
The first phase of the process has already started, while the second phase will began by the second half (H2) of 2024 to supply a total of 3,900 refrigeration (RT) of environmentally friendly district cooling energy.
Al Wasl Tower is a 302 metres spread across 65 levels in a central location of Dubai.
Ahmad bin Shafar, CEO of Empower, said: "We are committed to serving Dubai's premier real estate projects, providing world-class sustainable district cooling services for the residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare and entertainment sectors in Dubai, to support the city’s pioneering role in reducing carbon emissions."
Bin Shafar highlighted that adding the Al Wasl skyscraper to Empower's portfolio boosts the company’s role in providing higher-quality district cooling services which can lower energy consumption by up to 50% compared to the traditional air conditioning systems.
The DFM-listed firm witnessed a surge of 54% in the volume of consumption of its district cooling services over the past five years.
