Dubai – Mubasher: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has launched its smart app on Apple Vision Pro glasses, becoming the first utility to offer its services through this technology that combines augmented and virtual reality.
DEWA offers various services through the Vision Pro app, which can be accessed using the UAE Pass, a username and password, or through eyeprint authentication, according to a press release.
Customers can view bill details, make payments using Apple Pay, access the Smart Living dashboard, and view consumption reports (annual, monthly, and daily) compared to similar homes through the My Sustainable Living Programme.
The app also provides each customer with a personalised footprint and customised tips to enhance consumption efficiency.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, said: “We are committed to keeping pace with rapid technological developments to provide innovative, safe, and proactive services that are available around the clock through various channels that suit all customers and allow them to conduct their transactions seamlessly and conveniently, anytime, anywhere.”
“We use the latest disruptive technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, including generative AI, metaverse, and others. DEWA’s advanced digital infrastructure has contributed to increasing the smart adoption of its services to 99.2%,” Al Tayer added.
It is noteworthy that DEWA logged a net profit of AED 7.93 billion in 2023, down 1.40% from AED 8.04 billion in 2022.
