Riyadh – Mubasher: ACWA Power Company received, on 26 December 2024, a notice from the Sirdarya CCGT Independent Power Project (IPP) in Uzbekistan, according to a bourse disclosure.
The project company has been granted the commercial operation certificate for the full 1,500 megawatts (MW) plant.
Located in Shirin City, the project is now in full operation and is expected to reflect on ACWA Power’s financials in 2025.
The Tadawul-listed company owns a 51% stake in the Sirdarya CCGT IPP project.
Earlier this year, ACWA Power teamed with Japan’s Sumitomo Corporation to establish Uzbekistan’s largest renewable energy projects.
Their partnership followed agreements announced in May 2024 on the sidelines of the Saudi-Japan Vision 2030 Business Forum.
